Authorities are continuing a widespread manhunt for Jacob Morley, a 28-year-old convicted murderer who escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee, on the night of October 25, 2026. Morley, who is serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and related charges, breached the facility's perimeter fence and fled in a stolen white 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck. The vehicle, bearing Tennessee license plate 138BBQV and marked with Lindamood Planting Company branding, was discovered abandoned in Marion, Illinois, on Tuesday morning following a tip from a local resident. Despite the recovery of the getaway vehicle, law enforcement confirmed that Morley was not in the vicinity at the time of the find, and he remains at large. Described by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as dangerous, Morley stands 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 240 pounds, and has green eyes and brown hair. He is listed on the state's Most Wanted list with a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to his arrest. The Tennessee Department of Correction, in coordination with the TBI, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and local agencies, has cleared surrounding structures in the search area but has not located the suspect. Officials urge the public to remain vigilant, review personal surveillance footage, and immediately contact 911 or the TBI tip line at 1-800-TBI-FIND if they spot Morley. Authorities explicitly warn citizens not to approach or attempt to apprehend the suspect. Morley was originally convicted in 2022 for the murder of a man whose remains were found buried beneath Morley's home in Carter County, Tennessee, as well as for aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, evading arrest, and vandalism.
