Authorities are actively searching for 28-year-old Jacob Allen Morley, an escaped Tennessee prison inmate who is currently at large and considered dangerous. Morley escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee, late Sunday night, October 27, 2026. Surveillance footage captured him breaching the facility's perimeter fence while still wearing his prison uniform. Following the escape, investigators report that Morley stole a white Ford F-350 pickup truck from a nearby farm early Monday morning. The stolen vehicle was later discovered abandoned Tuesday morning behind a shopping center in Marion, Illinois, approximately 120 miles north of the prison. Marion Police Chief David Fitts confirmed that surveillance footage showed the truck parked around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, though a resident did not report the vehicle to police until several hours later. Although authorities searched the immediate area where the truck was found, they discovered no evidence that Morley remained nearby. Morley is serving a life sentence for the 2022 murder of a coworker in eastern Tennessee. He also holds convictions for aggravated burglary, evidence tampering, vandalism, and evading arrest. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 240 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. Law enforcement agencies warn the public not to approach or attempt to apprehend him. Anyone with information regarding Morley's whereabouts is urged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-926-8332 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-824-3463. In the event Morley is spotted, the public should call 911 immediately. The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his capture, in addition to a $2,500 reward provided by Tennessee authorities.
