Humberto Zeferino De Los Santos, a 23-year-old man, is currently at large and wanted by law enforcement in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in Eagan, Minnesota. De Losantos is charged with one felony count of leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death. The incident took place on June 29, 2024, at approximately 3:05 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 55 and Lexington Avenue. According to police reports and traffic camera footage, De Los Santos was driving a black 2011 Volkswagen Jetta with California license plates when he ran a red light and collided with a black 2011 Lincoln MKX. The crash resulted in the deaths of two passengers in the Jetta, one of whom was identified as De Los Santos' brother. After the collision, De Los Santos fled the scene and sought refuge at a nearby hotel. Although police obtained a search warrant for the room, De Los Santos had already departed before officers could execute it. During the search, investigators recovered a light blue shirt with blood on it, along with pay stubs and identification linking the items to De Los Santos. Authorities have contacted De Los Santos' brother, who is not involved in the crash, and requested that he encourage De Los Santos to contact police. Under Minnesota statute, the brother is required to facilitate this contact, but he has not done so, and De Los Santos' current whereabouts remain unknown. The Eagan Police Department and the Minnesota State Highway Patrol are investigating the case. The public is urged to contact authorities with any information regarding De Los Santos' location. This case remains active as the suspect has not been taken into custody.
