Inside the store, an armed Circle K clerk responded to the threat by firing seven shots. The bullets struck a gas pump, one of the suspect vehicles, and a canopy post. It remains unknown whether any of the fleeing suspects were injured by the gunfire. While one suspect, identified as Peirion D. Jackson, was apprehended near Steels Corners Road and Wyoga Lake Boulevard in neighboring Cuyahoga Falls, at least three other suspects escaped in a second stolen minivan.
