The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Hopland, California. The incident began when a male caller reported that shots were fired during a robbery at a local gas station. The suspect allegedly stole the caller's cellphone and wallet before fleeing the scene in a sedan bearing Idaho license plates. The caller was reportedly tracking the stolen device, which helped law enforcement narrow the search area. Shortly after the initial report, deputies located the suspect's vehicle, which was found unoccupied at the gas pumps. The suspect had fled on foot. Two additional victims in a dark-colored BMW parked nearby also reported being robbed by the same individual. The suspect is described as a Black adult male with a shaved head, heavy build, beard, and diamond stud earrings. He was last seen wearing a gray Nike tracksuit, white sweater, or gray track suit with a white t-shirt. Law enforcement units, including drone assistance from the Ukiah Police Department, searched nearby areas such as a creek bed near Tower Mart and Highway 101. A shelter-in-place order was issued for the Hopland to Old Hopland area but has since been removed. The investigating agency is the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and contact authorities with any information regarding the suspect's whereabouts.
