The New York City Police Department is actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a 15-year-old male victim. The incident occurred last month at the Parsons Boulevard subway station, located in the Jamaica Hills neighborhood of Queens. According to police reports, the victim was ascending a staircase to exit the station onto Hillside Avenue at approximately 12:20 a.m. when he was approached from behind by an unknown individual. The suspect allegedly brandished a weapon and issued verbal threats, demanding the teenager's personal property. The victim complied with the demands and handed over his cellphone, after which the suspect fled the station and ran off in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured during the encounter, and the stolen device is valued at approximately $200. On Wednesday, the NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect to the public. He is described as having a dark complexion and a black goatee. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a burnt orange hooded jacket over a white T-shirt, black pants, gray and black sneakers, and carrying a black and silver backpack. A reward of up to $3,500 has been offered for information that leads to the suspect's arrest and indictment. Investigators from the 107th Precinct and Transit District 20 are urging anyone with information to come forward. The public is asked to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or the Spanish-language line at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also be submitted via the Crime Stoppers website or on X at @NYPDTips. All communications are strictly confidential. This investigation highlights a recent uptick in local crime, with the 107th Precinct reporting 113 robberies through November 1, 2026, marking a 17.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
