Philadelphia police are searching for Jamal Pistoria, who remains at large following a violent incident at Abba Blessed Beauty Salon located on the 6300 block of Stenton Avenue in the East Mount Airy neighborhood. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Bellaniri Ofelia Hernandez-Camilo and the sexual assault of two other women. The incident occurred on Monday, resulting in the death of Hernandez-Camilo, for whom funeral arrangements have been made. According to authorities, Pistoria forced his way into a back room of the salon, locked the door with the three victims inside, and fired his weapon multiple times. He is accused of pistol-whipping the two surviving co-workers and forcing one to perform a sexual act. Investigators state that the surviving women were able to fight back after it appeared the suspect had run out of ammunition. Surveillance footage captures Pistoria leaving the salon and being seen at a nearby convenience store shortly thereafter. Law enforcement describes the suspect as approximately five-foot-six inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds. The beauty salon remains closed as the investigation continues, and the community is left in shock by the tragedy. Police are urging anyone with information regarding Pistoria’s location to come forward immediately. The case is being handled by the Philadelphia Police Department, and tips can be directed through official channels. The incident has caused significant distress among local business owners and residents, with a memorial growing outside the salon site. No motive has been established, and the suspect’s current whereabouts are unknown.
