The federal government has announced a significant increase in reward offers, totaling up to $50 million, for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the top three leaders of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The rewards, administered through the State Department’s Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program in coordination with the FBI, DEA, and Department of Justice, target Yohan José Romero, known as “Yohan Petrica,” Giovanni Vicente Mosquera Serrano, known as “Giovanni” and “El Viejo,” and Juan Gabriel Rivas Núñez, known as “Juancho.” Romero, identified in court records as the overall leader, faces accusations of directing drug trafficking, murders, and illegal gold mining operations. His reward has increased from $4 million to up to $20 million. Mosquera Serrano, who oversees the gang’s network in the United States, Colombia, and Central America, has seen his reward rise from $5 million to up to $15 million. He is also listed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and faces additional counts of international cocaine distribution. A new reward of up to $15 million was established for Rivas Núñez, who runs operations inside Venezuela. All three men were indicted by a federal grand jury in the Southern District of Texas on July 29, 2026, on charges including conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. The Trump administration designated Tren de Aragua as a foreign terrorist organization last year. Federal officials have emphasized that tipster identities will remain strictly confidential. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact the FBI by phone, text, WhatsApp, or Telegram at +1-281-787-9939, visit a local FBI field office, or contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate overseas. Government employees and law enforcement officials are prohibited from collecting rewards for information gathered during their duties. The announcement underscores the ongoing federal effort to dismantle the violent criminal organization and bring its leadership to justice.
