Detectives with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office are actively searching for an armed suspect wanted in connection with a violent robbery that took place late Tuesday night. The unknown male is described as wearing a face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, and black shoes. He confronted two sandwich shop employees, a 21-year-old woman from Grand Blanc Township and a 19-year-old woman from Clarkston, during the incident. According to investigators, the suspect shattered the glass on the establishment’s rear entrance to gain access to the building. Once inside, he brandished a handgun and demanded entry to the store’s safe. When the staff indicated they were unable to open it, he ordered them to place their personal purses on the counter. The suspect then climbed onto the counter, seized the bags, and escaped on foot through the back exit. The armed robbery occurred around 10:45 p.m. on June 2, 2026, at a Jimmy John’s located on Sashabaw Road in Independence Township, Michigan. Responding deputies immediately established a perimeter and utilized K9 units and a drone search team to track the fleeing individual, though those efforts were initially unsuccessful. Sheriff Michael Bouchard has emphasized the urgency of locating the violent offender and is asking the public to review any business or residential security cameras that may have captured the suspect on foot or a vehicle fleeing the area.
