The New Orleans Police Department is asking the public to help identify and locate an unknown suspect connected to a recent bicycle theft and aggravated assault. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 4, 2026, along the 1700 block of Port Street in New Orleans. According to police reports, the victim discovered her bicycle missing sometime between 9:00 p.m. on June 3 and 5:45 a.m. on June 4. While canvassing the neighborhood with her husband to locate the stolen property, the couple spotted an unknown Black male riding the bicycle. Upon confronting the individual, the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and fled the scene. The man is now wanted by investigators in connection with the theft and a related aggravated assault charge. Authorities have obtained photographs of both the suspect and the stolen bicycle and are releasing them to the public in hopes of generating leads. Detectives are urging anyone who recognizes the individual or has information regarding the location of the stolen property to come forward.
