The suspect entered the residence of an elderly couple through a window around 3 a.m., shined a flashlight into their bedroom, and discharged a firearm inside the house before fleeing the scene. Despite the violent nature of the break-in, both homeowners remained unharmed. Upon receiving a 911 call at 3:30 a.m., officers from the Powder Springs Police Department and the Cobb County SWAT team quickly secured the neighborhood, instructing the couple to remain in their bedroom until the area was confirmed clear. Neighbors reported a heavy police presence as multiple units and tactical vehicles flooded the street. The suspect escaped before officers could make an arrest, though a doorbell camera captured images of the individual that have not yet been released to the public.
