Columbus police have identified Michael D. Lunsford Jr. as the suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on the city's northeast side. Lunsford has been formally charged with murder following the death of 22-year-old Avante J. Copeland. The incident took place around 9:28 a.m. on Saturday when officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1900 block of Cleveland Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Copeland suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately rushed to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
