A homicide investigation is underway in Katy, Texas, following the fatal shooting of a 45-year-old man early Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. at a residence in the 24600 block of Sandal Springs Drive, where deputies responded to reports of a fight breaking out during a large house party. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the victim deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, video evidence recovered from the scene indicates that a participant in the altercation retrieved a firearm from a nearby vehicle and intentionally shot the victim multiple times. Investigators believe the shooter specifically targeted the victim rather than firing randomly into the crowd. The party was attended primarily by family members, but authorities state the shooter is believed to be an unrelated guest. The identity of the deceased has been withheld pending notification of next of kin. At this time, the suspect remains at large and has not been taken into custody.
