The Central Marin Police Authority is actively searching for a suspect who remains at large following a violent home invasion and burglary in San Anselmo, California. The incident occurred on Monday evening, prompting a temporary shelter-in-place order for the surrounding neighborhood. According to police reports, officers received a call at 5:39 p.m. regarding a break-in at a residence on Island Drive. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a victim who had confronted the intruder. During the confrontation, the suspect struck the victim with a handgun. Although no shots were fired, the assault resulted in injuries to the victim, who received medical attention and is reported to have no life-threatening conditions. The suspect was observed fleeing the scene on foot, heading east on Island Drive, before allegedly escaping in a vehicle as additional officers arrived. In response to the threat, officers from the San Rafael and Novato police departments assisted in surrounding the area. A drone and K-9 unit were deployed to aid in the search, and residents were instructed to shelter in place until the order was lifted at 8:45 p.m. The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black mask and a black hooded sweatshirt.
