The Harris County Sheriff's Office is actively seeking a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the Katy area. The incident took place at approximately 12:15 a.m. on June 14, 2026, at a residence located in the 24600 block of Sandal Springs Drive, a residential street off Franz Road near Katy Fort Bend Road. Deputies responded to reports of a disturbance and gunfire at the scene, where they discovered a man, believed to be approximately 45 years old, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Investigators state that a large gathering, consisting primarily of family members and several non-family guests, was underway at the home when an altercation broke out involving multiple individuals. According to law enforcement, one participant in the fight walked to a vehicle, retrieved a firearm, and shot the victim multiple times. Video evidence recovered from the scene reportedly shows the suspect actively participating in the initial fight prior to the shooting. Detectives believe the victim was specifically targeted and that the suspect did not fire randomly into the crowd.
