Authorities in San Antonio, Texas, have identified 17-year-old Jovin Sandoval as the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday evening. Sandoval was found unresponsive in the street along Pelican Edge near Evans Road just after 10 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two bottles of Xanax on the teen, initially leading investigators to suspect a drug overdose. Although neighbors reported hearing two gunshots, the scene lacked obvious signs of a shooting, such as visible blood or external wounds. The only apparent injury was a bruise on Sandoval’s stomach. However, hospital staff later discovered two hidden gunshot wounds beneath his beltline after removing his clothing. Sandoval died from these injuries at the hospital. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has officially confirmed his identity. As of this report, the suspect remains at large, and investigators have not released any information regarding a possible suspect or the motive behind the shooting.
