Investigators with the Detroit Fire Investigation Division, a joint task force comprising the Detroit Police and Fire Departments, are actively seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for arson. The suspect is sought in connection with a fire that occurred on May 12 at a vacant home located in the 1800 block of Eason Street on Detroit's west side. Upon arrival, firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze, and officials confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident. Surveillance video captured by investigators shows the suspect approaching the rear of the property carrying a bag before fleeing the scene shortly after the fire began. The individual is described as a male between the ages of 40 and 50, standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 3 inches tall, with short hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue jacket and brown pants. Authorities have offered a reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for setting the fire.
