The Kansas City Police Department is conducting an intensive manhunt for Oscar Sanchez-Munoz, a suspect described as armed and dangerous, who remains at large following a series of violent incidents. Sanchez-Munoz is wanted in connection with multiple shootings that occurred Tuesday evening across several key locations in the Kansas City area, including intersections near Interstate 670, Interstate 70, and Truman Road. The attacks resulted in one fatality and four injuries. Among the victims was an Uber driver transporting fans to Arrowhead Stadium for a World Cup match; another man died after his vehicle crashed at Truman Road and Bennington Avenue, an incident authorities believe is linked to the same suspect. Sanchez-Munoz, who already had an active arrest warrant for aggravated assault in Wyandotte County with a $100,000 bond, evaded capture during two separate standoff situations. The first occurred at his primary residence in Independence on Tuesday night, where a fire broke out around midnight. A second standoff extended into Wednesday morning before police cleared a residence in the 1600 block of Kensington without making contact. Investigators are currently processing the Kensington property for evidence while continuing broader searches. Capt. Jake Becchina of the KCPD emphasized that all available local, state, and federal resources are being utilized to locate the suspect. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant, particularly given the proximity of the incidents to major public gatherings.
