A 22-year-old male suspect, described by police as armed and dangerous, remains at large following a series of shootings in Kansas City, Missouri, that resulted in one death and four injuries. The incidents occurred on Tuesday evening between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. along a five-mile stretch of roadway, including Interstates 70 and 670, and Truman Road. Police Captain Jacob Becchina stated that detectives believe the non-fatal shootings were connected and committed by a single suspect in close succession. Among the victims was an Uber driver transporting American fans of Argentina’s soccer team to a World Cup match; he was hit in the leg but his injuries are not life-threatening. Three other individuals, including a minor, were hospitalized, with one adult sustaining life-threatening injuries. A separate incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when a vehicle crashed into a pole on Truman Road. The driver was transported to a hospital, where medical staff discovered a gunshot wound; he subsequently died from his injuries. Investigators tracked the suspect to a residence in the suburb of Independence, approximately two miles east of the fatal shooting scene, leading to a standoff. However, when police entered the home early Wednesday morning, the suspect had already fled. Additionally, officials in Kansas City, Kansas, have issued a warrant for the suspect regarding a June 11 incident involving the illegal discharge of a firearm.
