Green Bay police are actively searching for an unidentified suspect following a deadly shooting incident on the city’s east side. The violence occurred early Monday morning, June 22, 2026, around 1:45 a.m., when officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2400 block of Deckner Avenue regarding reports of a weapon incident. Upon arrival, authorities discovered an 18-year-old male, identified as Emerald Metoxen of Oneida, lying unresponsive in the street with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, Metoxen was pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly after, police learned of a second victim, a 17-year-old male, who had sought treatment at a local hospital for a separate gunshot wound. Investigators report that the teenager’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening. During the response, authorities issued a temporary shelter-in-place order for residents in the immediate vicinity while SWAT and the Crisis Negotiation Team managed the scene; this order was lifted at approximately 8:30 a.m. The investigation remains in its early stages, and a visible law enforcement presence is expected in the neighborhood for an undetermined amount of time.
