Tampa Police are actively searching for one or more suspects wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred on Father’s Day evening. The incident took place just after 10 p.m. on Sunday near the intersection of West Main Street and North Albany Avenue, where a large crowd had gathered for an impromptu celebration. According to authorities, a disturbance broke out among the attendees, leading to the discharge of firearms. Responding officers arrived at the scene and discovered a male victim suffering from critical gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. At this time, investigators have not released a physical description of the suspect or suspects, nor have they confirmed whether more than one individual was involved in the shooting. The motive behind the disturbance remains unclear. Deputy Chief Patrick Messmer addressed circulating rumors, stating that false narratives claiming police officers fired their weapons are inaccurate. Body camera footage released by the department shows officers running toward the violence to render aid, with no officer involved in the shooting.
