Chicago police are currently searching for a male suspect wanted in connection with a series of purse robberies that have targeted women in the city's South Side neighborhoods. The suspect is accused of approaching victims on foot, claiming to have a gun, and stealing their purses before fleeing on foot. The incidents occurred on June 16 and June 23, with three separate robberies reported. The first incident took place in the 7000 block of South Jeffery Boulevard in the Jackson Park Highlands neighborhood on June 16 at 3:00 p.m. Two additional robberies occurred on June 23 in the South Shore neighborhood, specifically in the 7200 block of South Euclid Avenue at 6:56 p.m. and the 2100 block of East 71st Street at 7:00 p.m. The suspect is described as a Black man between the ages of 19 and 30. His physical description includes a height of approximately 5-foot-9 and a weight ranging from 140 to 160 pounds. He is noted to have dreadlocks.
