Authorities have identified 36-year-old Raheem Rhett of Jersey City as the suspect wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning. Rhett is currently at large and facing multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, and several weapons offenses. The incident took place at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, along Orient Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Jersey City. Responding Jersey City police officers discovered 38-year-old Jenardo Tejada suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene. Tejada was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The Regional Medical Examiner's Office is continuing to determine the official cause and manner of death. During the investigation, officers also located a second victim, a 45-year-old Jersey City man, on Jackson Square with an apparent gunshot wound. His condition has not been released. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has warned that Rhett should be considered dangerous and should not be approached by the public.
